Flowers are blooming everywhere. It is so pretty up here right now. We have really enjoyed the warm weather the past few days. It was a little crazy that just two weeks ago we were covered with 3-5 inches of snow and then this past weekend we had 80 degree weather.

I get really excited when I see something new popping up out of the ground. At first I thought some of these flowers were going to be weeds, but then I was surprised to see they turned out to be flowers. Our sweet neighbor next to us informed me that around this time of year, usually anything coming up out of the ground will be a flower. So here are a few pictures I took out in the yard of our beautiful wild flowers. The yellow flower is a Daffodil and the purple flowers are Wild Purple Iris.

Our First Blog

I don't think we are the blogging type, but we thought we would give it a try. With moving to a different state and lots of pictures, this seemed to be the easier way to share our journey with our friends and family.

Currently we are in Hickory, NC. We have both been here almost 2 months and have already seen 3 snow days. Our house is in a nice location for snow. The sun doesn't quit hit our house directly, so it takes a few days for the snow to all go away. Our two dogs love playing in the snow. They will play for about 10 minutes and then decide their paws are a little cold. It is fun to watch them out in the backyard.

Just an update to where we are and what we are doing...Nick is working at Flowers Baking Co., in Newton, NC. It is about a 15-20 minute drive depending on which way he goes. I am currently waiting to hear if I have a job at a school just for Special Needs children. So cross your fingers this all goes through. We have met a few people and are still searching for a church. Everyone up here is really nice and we know God has placed us here for a reason.
